A FOOD-OBSESSED COUPLE FROM BEDFORDSHIRE.

e're Stephan and Lucy — a food-obsessed couple from Bedfordshire who've spent years exploring food festivals across the UK and beyond. As someone with coeliac
disease, Lucy knows exactly how disheartening it is to stand in front of a fantastic street food stall and be told there's nothing safe for her to eat.

Too often, 'gluten free' means a sad separate option tucked away at the back of the menu. We decided to do something about it.
the menu philosophy
WHY LOADED FRIES?
Because everyone loves fries. Genuinely — young or old, adventurous eater or fussy eater, the person who orders the same thing every time or the one who wants to try everything. Fries are a universal language. And when you load them with bold, globally inspired flavours, you get something that's both comfortingly familiar and genuinely exciting.

We took inspiration from street food scenes around the world — the American South, Mexico, Japan, the Middle East — and built a menu that celebrates those flavours while keeping everything accessible, inclusive, and naturally gluten free. No artificial workarounds, no separate dishes. Just really good food that everyone gets to enjoy.

INCLUSION FIRST
Our entire menu is naturally gluten free. That's not a marketing line — it's the foundation on which we built Hey Spud!. Every guest at every event deserves great food.
RESPONSIBLE FOOD
We use fully compostable packaging, make everything fresh to order to minimise waste, and our used cooking oil is converted into biodiesel. We're not perfect, but we're trying to do better every day.
PERSONAL SERVICE
When you book Hey Spud!, you deal with us — Stephan and Lucy. Not an events coordinator, not a call centre. Us. That personal investment shows in how we approach every single event.
